iZotope RX 7 is a professional audio repair tool that can effectively remove noise from audio recordings. This article covers how to use five modules—Breath Control, De-click, Spectral De-noise, De-plosive, and De-ess—to address common problems in vocal recordings. Understanding each module's parameters helps you treat breaths, clicks, white noise, plosives, and sibilance naturally, enabling you to produce professional-quality vocal tracks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. What if I don't want to remove breaths completely from a vocal recording?
In Breath Control, raise the Target Level rather than setting it to silence to reduce breaths without removing them completely. The Gain parameter lets you specify how much to reduce their level relative to the current level.
Q2. De-click makes the voice sound unnatural when I remove clicks. What should I do?
Avoid setting Sensitivity too high, and keep Click Widening as low as practical. Try a different algorithm, such as MULTIBAND (RANDOM CLICKS), and adjust the frequency-related settings to optimize the processing.
Q3. How can I effectively remove background white noise with Spectral De-noise?
The most important step is to select a section containing only noise and click Learn so the module can learn the noise profile. Then balance Threshold and Reduction, and use Artifact Control to find a setting that preserves the character of the voice.
