Cleaning up layered rhythms
Cleaning up rhythms
「Rhythms」 are an INCREDIBLY important part of a song.
How can I make my rhythms sound better?
This will greatly determine the quality of a song.
When the rhythms feel lacking, layering with sampled sounds is a great technique,
but you must be careful to 「keep the low end clean」.
- Before application
- After application
We will take a look at the ways you can edit like above.
Sound design
Layering rhythms
When making productions,
you may end up layering more than 2 layers of loop materials.
When doing so, the low end gets cluttered,
ending up in a situation where you are「unable to add in bass」.
Cutting EQ in sub-rhythms
Apply EQ to your 「sub-rhythms」,
and add big cuts to the low end.
This allows you to make space for the「main rhythm」,
while still keeping both materials.
